It’s been two years since Kathryn died.
One year later, 10/10/21, we held the Kathryn Leigh Thurgaland Foundation kickoff, where we announced to our family and friends the establishment of the foundation and the programs offered.

“Yes, I do remember that when… our family banded together and created the KLT Foundation we had the “KLT Kick-Off” one year after Kayleigh died.
Now we are nearing the end of a second year.
I hope to be able to put more words to the depth of my souls healing though this experience and be a greater impact to others grieving. I have so many thoughts about death and life that I want to share that I have felt to my core. It’s very difficult, but so is all of this and we just keep keeping on. 💛”

At our first annual love of life festival we were all blown away by how the whole day turned out. Even though it started with some rain, the rest of the day was filled with sunshine and love all around.
All the vendor booths, artists, and food trucks! Families hanging out, kids running around, laughing, dancing, eating…
It was everything we could have imagined and more. We could never have imagined how meaningful and impactful the emotions, smiles, stories, and hugs shared would be. The talent that was brought to each stage brought tears to so many eyes and got many off their feet, dancing and singing along.
The raffles were an exciting way to break up the entertainment and allow for stage changes and somehow everything worked almost like clockwork. With many great lessons learned for even smother operations the next time around, and knowing how blown away we were by the first event, we are so excited for round two!
